It's just fucking boring at this point. I was super super excited about Halo all the way through reach, so many of my middle school years were spent obsessing about these games.

Now I'm 22 and my interests have totally changed. It's been so long since the early xbox 360 days, there are so many new and different franchises doing interesting stuff.

And then over there on xbox, oh look, it's Master-Chief again! He feels so grey and boring nowadays, any pizazz the name used to have has just turned to this lame 'eh' because I don't care about him as a character nearly as much as I do with other games.

I've just moved on. If Halo wants to be a relevant franchise, it should too. Do something new and actually interesting with the universe, stop playing it so safe and keeping everything so tame.

A lot of people really like the Star Wars Prequels, and they did well financially. But the Star Wars movies would be so much more legendary if they left it at the original trilogy.

I don't know about the missions themselves, but the levels in Halo 2 were way more fun to get out of bounds and just run around aimlessly exploring the huge areas they didn't use. Out of bounds glitches were the only thing that made some of the Arbiter levels tolerable.
