Alright, to begin with, the Institute of Scientific Information created an indexing service called the Web of Science which connects to multiple databases referencing the majority of peer-reviewed scientific papers available on Earth. Just about any subject can be referenced here.

In 2012 John Cook wrote an article wherein a search of 12,465 peer-reviewed papers on global warming were pulled from the WoS and returned. Of those papers, 64% had no opinion one way or the other on AGW (Anthropogenic Global Warming / Man-Made Global Warming). They didn't endorse or deny, they just had nothing to do with that particular study of climate change. Of the remaining 32.6%, 97.1% acknowledged the existence of AGW. You might've heard this number a lot a few years ago. "97% of scientists agree on manmade global warming!"

Now, the political left took this fact and ran with it. What they don't specify or follow-up on, is *to what degree* do those scientists feel AGW impacts Climate Change? David Legates reviewed the data and discovered that only 41 of the 4014 papers acknowledging AGW espoused a belief that AGW was responsible for at least 50% of climate change. The remaining 99% had results suggesting that it was not a significant factor whatsoever.
