Am I the only one that very much prefers the metal, rough sound design of X over the techno garbage from GX?
I think the former fits F-Zero miles better. The announcer has more personality and the music has a more intense feel to it. It just fits better imo.

I think we can agree GX is the more polished game gameplay-wise but I was really disappointed in the sound design in it.

You're not the only one.
The metal soundtrack was perfect for a game like F-Zero X. It matched not only the high speed of the game but also the almost encouraged aggressive playstyle you can pull off in that game.

Going around tackling every other racer or doing the spin attack in a large cluster of them.

I also find it to be far more iconic and unique when compared to GX's soundtrack. GX's really could be put into any other futuristic racer. This is not including the profile themes though, which for the most part were just corny nonsense.

Also I personally find X to be a more enjoyable game to play but I recognize GX's merits to some degree.

The wonky driving in GX makes so much more sense when you realize that it's using Super Monkey Ball's physics engine.

Not that guy but I always felt the handling was loose and slippery with any machine that wasn't the Fat Shark.

I get the whole 'git-gud' thing but for me GX wasn't a game I enjoyed enough to want to. X's stiffer handling was more up my alley.
