The one in the first game was another artificial Kingdom Hearts formed from the gathered hearts of worlds the Heartless took. The Kingdom Hearts in KH2 was a fake formed from the gathered hearts of people. The only time we actually saw the real Kingdom Hearts was during BbS because of the X-blade summoning it.

The only thing about these games that really miff me is:

The worlds don't feel real. Each world that you go to has like 8 small rooms with loading screens inbetween. The worlds should be like almost open worlds with many things to do.

The other thing contributing to this problem is lack of npcs and things to do. In Mulans world in kh2, i remember there being like 2 or 3 npcs. If you go to Mulan's world, you should be able to visit the main city with tons of citizens or a military camp with many soldiers.

I understand for when the games were on the ps2 and the handhelds. But kh3 has no excuse for this issue. There is no point to having all these colorful settings if don't feel like you are in actual living world.

It's a cutscence movie in the collection, same with Re:coded.

Kingdom Hearts is a world made out of interconnected hearts all resonating with each other. In KH1 it was like all the world's hearts in one place and as such was a source of huge amounts of power.

In KH2 it was more artificially constructed by collecting the hearts of Somebodies by taking them from Heartless defeated with the Keyblade.

They basically form some sort of hivemind and become a single powerful entity.

Not gonna lie to you, bug is still there. It hit me and I lost like 45 min of progress because I'm dumb and didn't save while grinding wisdom form in Timeless River. However, it only hit me that one time in 75ish hours of game +postgame, and the 60fps is 100000% worth the possibility of a save bug. It improves your experience so much. Yeah Nobodies develop hearts overtime if they're allowed to have interact properly. Part of the reason Xehanort told them the lie was hoping the obsession with getting a real heart would cause them to act more psychotic and to prevent them from trying to be friend each other.

Also killing the heartless only causes the heart to return IF the nobody also dies. Otherwise it's assumed the heart flows back to kingdom hearts.

Worlds were bigger but were more empty and linear. Difficulty was shit unless you played Final Mix. And it is clearly where the story went off the rails. While I like KH2, it is incredibly flawed.
