With a year and a half development and the fact that the gameplay is DMC's number one draw, I'm pretty fucking certain that we'll get gameplay footage either at announcement or almost immediately afterwards, perhaps during a Capcom stream.

And Nioh proved that demos can be great for a game's PR and garnering interest, so it's very likely that DMC5/Dragon's Dogma 2/new IP will get one within a few months after announcement. Extended gameplay trailers and demos are also a good sign for us, the players, because devs don't tend to do that anymore unless they're very confident in what they've made.

It's also the fact that this image literally says "Devil May Cry series" before March 2018. A potential DMC would be very far into development by now. RE7 was completely leak'less and that didn't get announced until half a year before release.

It just means you never properly took the time to learn DMC's combat and think DD's is better because it's simpler.

Dragon's Dogma was a massive disappointment for me because the action gameplay is a huge downgrade from DMC. This in itself is not a huge problem since it's a RPG, but the RPG aspects weren't great either.

The original story is written in a way to have no closure.

The demons will always try to escape Hell, demon hunters will always exist, Dante and the gang will always answer the call.

It's an easily rebooted franchise. They could soft reboot it and start the story with Sparda, with you actually playing through the story of him fighting Mundus and closing off gates of Hell.

I really don't think DMC5 will be a direct continuation. Too much time has passed since 4, we had a reboot and people will be confused which story is continued if it isn't standalone/new, and it's Capcom.

It's incredibly easy to have the story of DMC5 basically follow-up on DmC.

DmC literally ends with-

>Limbo crashes into the real world.

DMC5 could easily be set somewhere post DMC1/4 and be about Vergil coming back, and people who only played DmC could easily understand it.

But that's not really true. For one thing, Mundus never died. Probably neither did Vergil even, as alluded to in DMC1 and 4. Dante isn't immortal and humans just aren't capable of fighting demons on the level he does, so eventually at some point in the future everything would just revert to how bad things were in Sparda's times. There's not even any real closure on the Nero/Vergil thing.

It's weird that the hype even took of last year when everything pointing to a new DMC said nothing about a 2016 reveal. There was just stuff that pointed to it happening.

On the other hand this year Itsuno confirmed that he'll reveal something, and the work pipeline image has "Devil May Cry Series" at the very end, with the pipeline ending March 2018. Not to mention it also lines up with Capcom's 2.5 year development plan, if you assume development started after DMC4SE.

The chance for DMC5 E3 announcement have literally never been higher than now. Either way, we'll know for sure by the end of the year.

If the game was actually good, people would hardly comment on that shit. However, the core of the game, the actual gameplay, is 100% shit. The combo variation is hilarious and the ease in which you get SSS is too. It's like only based on the amount of damage dealt, which means heavy hitting combos will easily give you an SSS. Certainly if you can hit multiple enemies.
Then there's the ease with which you can infinitely juggle enemies. Ofcourse, you could infinitely juggle enemies in DMC4, but that takes quite some skill and dedication to achieve instead of just pressing "grab + jump" over and over.
Not even starting on color coded enemies and no lock-on. Whoever thought of that should be fired immediately.

The game is mediocre at best. Nice to see some big numbers pop on your screen, but when it takes literally no effort, it's meaningless.
