Fallout 4 has some redeeming elements to it.

The settlement system doesnt belong in the game, but when you combine it with the improved loot tables for scavenging, it's honestly a great formula.

I had more fun scavving for materials and building up my settlements than I did with anything else in the game.

Also. Dead Space 3 isnt that bad. It has the best space environments and atmosphere of any game I've ever played.

FF2 isn't that bad. Maybe I just enjoy breaking games

Custom Damage Mod (I have all damage multiplied by 4 I think, both player and enemy damage)

Fallout Config Editor (for changing lots of small stuff, I turned off follower teleportation and the invisible borders)

I'm honestly perplexed how the Uncharted series ever came to be praised. People meme about TLOU and hurr durr movie but it has WAY more gameplay than this piece of shit series.
Gameplay is divided between shooting sections and automated climbing sections. The shooting gets boring because it rarely changes throughout the game and the climbing is nothing of any challenge, literally just mashing X over and over.
I think maybe it was because it was the PS3's first game and people just clung onto it.

Story in video games is cancer, and should never exist beyond what's absolutely necessary. And no MGS fans, 10 hours of cutscenes are not necessary. For example, a game like Bayonetta gets thrown away for 2 hours of cutscenes and quick time events. Persona, Xenoblade and MGS go in the garbage for having 10+ hours of cutscenes and 80+ hours of mandatory dialogue dumps, dwarfing any gameplay you might ever get. Shoot, any game with more than 1-2 hours of cutscenes is cinematic trash and should be discarded, no matter the genre. Infact, visual novels and RPGs should be discarded as trash genres that can't be salvaged.

I always felt like it was cinematics over substance. I've only played Arkham Asylum but the combat felt like mashing punch and counter whenever an enemy tries to attack, plus the dodge is useless for actual dodging and can only be used for re-positioning.

Also speaking of combat, Dragon's Dogma has really mediocre combat. The enemies are all fairly spongey and don't feel like they react to attacks half the time. I felt like that whole game was a 6/10 at best and I don't get how so many people here love it so much.

Depends, I loved the cuhrayzee cutscenes and story moments in MGR for example but Valkyria Chronicles is putting me off with all of its cutscenes even though both of these games have probably about the same amount.

I guess it's a quality thing and how much connection I feel with the story when actually playing the game, as well as not generally being boring and played out. The former is over the top in a good way and captures how I feel while playing the actual game pretty well in some cutscenes. The latter manages to mix every boring part of anime I've watched with every boring part of WW2 dramas I've watched and I don't really feel much connection with the gameplay during the seemingly countless cutscenes. They all feel disjointed from what I'm doing, like the first couple I ordered the characters to make what I assume to be their very first kills and they immediately go on to do cliche anime shit right off, bleh.

I'm generally okay with cutscenes but if there's a lot of unenjoyable ones then they just shouldn't be in the game.

Arkham City adds some enemies that make it pretty hard to play with only mashes and counters that can make challenge maps(and certain areas) pretty difficult and fun.

E.g. have to do a combination to disarm shield dudes, have to time knife counters, completely avoid electric stick enemies etc.

I have no real issue with a company removing/ changing cosmetic items in a game because the chance to move to a lighter rating would be more lucrative form a sales standpoint. I don't even call it censorship because it isn't. It's when actual gameplay gets removed changed or something is vastly different from a design standpoint that an issue arises.

Rockstar is bar none the most overrated developer. All the GTA games have sub par mechanics for everything, yet normies buy em up because they fall for the open world meme. Really, unless a game has things to find (like equipment or weapons) than an open world is pointless and pretty much a waste of time.

Every single of those games aside from Horizon Zero Dawn was quite poor. Zelda being the shitstain that puts the rest to shame. Breath of the Wild is one of the absolute worst games I've seen. I have no idea how adults who have played a single game before it can say they liked it with a straight face. I can't even wouldn't even begin to respect the opinion of someone who said they liked it on anything again. The music was awful, the combat mechanics were awful, the enemies had an AI that doesn't belong in a game of this decade, with very little variety in design or movesets, the puzzles were the opposite of clever. The few bosses actually REUSED models and had no substance in fights, trails were a horrible extrinsic reason to explore the world on top of just plain old sucking intrinsically. The cherry on top was Ganon. Oh my fucking god Ganon was the bit that pushed the game into embarrassingly bad territory. Those final moments where he just stands completely still attacking nothing... I literally dropped my controller, pulled out my phone and started recording for about a minute to show a couple friends just how bad it was. I stood right in front of that giant mother fucker for a good 2 minutes and didn't take a single point of damage. He just shot lazers at nothing in different directions over and over with really annoying music playing, and the utter nonsensical rambling of the living plot device princess zelda vomiting bullshit harping on and on and on about nothing in a mind numbing loop. Seriously Fuck that game. Fuck anyone who liked it... I feel like I'm taking crazy pills seeing the amount of praise it gets. It makes absolutely no fucking sense. It is garbage on a tier all of its own. If you like Breath of the Wild, you have no standards to speak of.

Dragon Age 2 has an incredible second act and some fantastic characters, even if the third act is garbage. And I love the focus on politics in the world of Dragon Age. The Darkspawn stuff in Origins was whatever, but the politics were fantastic and I like how they shifted their focus on to that in the second one.

I agree with this. Only part that felt annoying to play through is farron keep swamp area, but you can get through it really quick

I enjoy Fallout 4 greatly as a game, but I hate the Bethesda experience.

Oblivion is best but Skyrim is not that shit as /v/ says. Just a little bit casualized, thats it. Skyrim is a good game
