One of my biggest fears that have stopped me from playing a Persona game (besides the whole creature fusion thing since I feel I'm just gonna fuck up and ruin my stats for life, but that's a SMT fear in general for me, not Persona-related) is the whole angle of organizing your schedule.

Sure, it shouldn't be THAT hard, but I always hear stories of players basically screwing themselves big time because they decided to make lockpicks in one particular day or the whole calling card bit that seems to screw up a lot of people and I still don't know how it works. So my question is really if I'm locked of certain buffs the girl confidants give me if I want to romance one girl? Or can just being friend also lets me finish a confidant's list of missions and get my buff without getting my ass kicked by valentine's?

In P3 all S.Links are romantic. In 4 and 5 you have the choice after a key event to stay friends or turn it romantic (with available females of course).

The game will pause and your character will think "I need to choose my words carefully", if you're already dating someone it'll add/highlight "I'm already in a relationship with another girl".

The options are all pretty obvious, "I'm here for you" (Lover) vs "We're all here for you" (Friends)

And 5 even gives you a chance to back out where the character confirms you meant what you said. If you tell Kawakami you don't want to stop seeing her, she tells you that you can't say things like that, or a girl will get the wrong idea, you then clarify what you mean.

Basically, it's not a problem at all staying friends with everyone, or only dating one girl. It's actually easier than getting the romance choices exactly right.

How to spend your time will be almost overwhelming at first, but you'll soon get the hang of it, you don't need to complete everything in one run through.

Also, there's no worries about fucking up demon fusion, you pretty much can't.

It's impossible to screw up because you're not meant to fully understand it and there's very little benefit to doing so. You pretty much just fuse at random for whatever seems useful or cool. You can get any Persona back at any time, so even if to fuse away your best one, you can just resummon him.
