I don't really give a fuck about it starring rabbids, I'm more curious about how Ubisoft would even handle making a game like this. How the fuck is this even going to play and how would this crossover complement the gameplay.

Since it's Ubisoft I assume they wouldn't think much about this but I wouldn't think Nintendo would allow them to use Mario unless they were confident they had a decent game here.

Either way barely anyone is going to accept this unless the style comes across as self-aware.

The Rabbids started off as Rayman enemies for what was originally a platforming game. However, the Wii/Home Console versions (it was released on Wii first and built with the console in mind) changed into a minigame collection with shooter levels. The game sold, prompting Ubisoft to make continuously outlandish sequels and play up the "party" aspect (the first game was single player). Eventually the Rabbids spun off into their own series and Rayman got Rayman Origins.
