It's really just Funimation that seems to suck, and their staff is usually the only company that people use for dubs now. I much prefer 2004 dubs from other companies, though, than a lot of newer dubs I've heard. Having said that, I've been enjoying Persona 5's dub since it doesn't seem to have the same actors voicing the main cast as every other anime or Japanese video game, and they sound pretty decent outside of mangling the pronunciation of names.

See I wouldn't consider people who likely had no interest in or drive to pursue voice acting as a full career to even be in the barrel in the first place.
