It's a fighting game. There's fuck all on the screen. Just two character models and some scenery. They run at 60fps on any console, even handheld ones. It might be the most performance friendly genre out there.

I've finally come to terms with the fact that the Soul Calibur series is kill, so I'll be picking up Tekken.

I've never really played it though. Or any 3D fightan (beside SC series which I played at a pretty high level). How much carryover will there be? I'm not worried about combo notation or anything, although it's strange that they don't use numpad for Tekken.

One thing it seems is tech chrouches/jumps seem to be pretty damn important (high/low crushes i think?). And I'm hoping, like in SC, memorization of the frame data of character's top 10 will determine how well I do?

As an aside, I played poke heavy characters, focusing on spacing, often more defense/counter-hit oriented. Think Seongmina or Raphael. Any good analogue in Tekken?

Main characters (mishimas), unlike ryu or ken, are one of the hardest to use.
Lots of character with lots of moves to remember and know how to deal with.
Legacy skill. It's REALLY hard to beat the opponent who plays tekken competitively since t5 or t6.

The movement in particular is something you have to practice constantly to get decent at or you will flounder hard.

If you plan on playing with friends or solo just the offline stuff, its honestly not that hard. Its the online and competitive play where all the hard stuff comes in, you will get your shit pushed in unless you know decent movement, punishing, poking, combos, and overall how to play your main. I always found MK much harder even when playing it casually.

He's even made tweets about the possibillity about hidden characters on the launch disc.
Noone knows what it could be like until the game is out, not to mention upcoming DLC characters. I've been advocating for his inclusion since day 1.
