How good are you at Fighting Games

Okay I guess. I used to play in local tournaments for various games and always placed well though never took first place. When I'm interested in a character I make sure to learn all their BnBs and optimal shit depending on the situation, which goes pretty far when combined with the fundamentals.

I practice enough to be decent, but would probably get stomped pretty hard in any major tournament.

Shit. Unless you count Melee. And when I tried to learn I quit because nothing you practice works online. That and it's buttfucking retarded to have some of the motions for special moves. Forward/up/back/down+special button. That is all you need.

I didn't really play Ultra because the game was pretty dead by then. Didn't it take like 8 months to come out after it was announced? My friend who I played daily with since 2008 moved away. I miss him too.

That's pretty much why I don't even try to play SFV. I don't want to learn a game with online only. It's much better being shit and your friend being shit and you both grow together.

I'm playing BlazBlue and KoF from time to time with my friends and I'm probably the best of us at BB but I think compared to the average player I'm horrible.

I suck at hitconfirms, I fall apart when getting rushed down and I most of the time I drop combos after 2.5-3k damage.
I can't win lobby matches with any character other than Azrael but against my friends I can do pretty alright with Taokaka and Amane.

Shit. I play almost every day vs. a friend but he wins 90% of the time. He doesn't really practise or anything, nor did he play a lot of fighters before.

Is it possible my reaction speed is just too slow?
I have like 40 hours in Third strike, and I see, for example, Ken's rising foot, yet I still fail to block the overhead.

My background with fighting games is mostly in Blazblue. I got into fighting games with Blazblue CT. CF is boring to me. I've been practicing a little Guilty Gear Rev but I haven't found a character I want to play yet.

I'm slightly above average, switched from analog stick to d-pad and noticed a massive improvement and I'm learning to have consistent inputs now since they're more accurate.

Started a couple of months ago.
Used to play a lot of pvp in the souls games and couldn't be beat, so I thought why not get into something more challenging.

Got up to par with my friends who play a little bit. Still dealing with some ranked anxiety in SFV but win consistently in casual.

Learning is fun. I want to git gud at GG.

Mortal Kombat 9, otrvious mortal kombat titles were simply not good and 9 has morr personality than X. Mulyiple styles in X did more harm than good.
Tekken 4, it is the tekken title i played the most.

For the shoto of XRD, that really would be Ky, his damage is decent, his normals are pretty good, and his Oki plan is straightfoward.
For your rushdown characters, Sol is really easy to play, Millia is harder to play, but is one of the stronger characters in the cast. If you want to make everyone hate you, I-no has some really dirty options. Can always play Leo, Chipp or Elphelt too for decent rushdown gameplan.

People don't need to know how to fucking walk forward or jump, they need to know BnB combos, what moves can be canceled into specials, frame data, options, and more. But instead Capcom wants you to perform some bullshit combo that you will literally never have an opportunity to perform or if you do you had better options anyway

Thanks anon, I've played a bit of Ky and Sol but got my shit pushed in last weekend playing online for the first time against a Kum player. Did a little bit better when they switched to Elphelt.
I'm still getting used to jump canceling and air-combos and they are so satisfying. I have yet to really understand the applications of roman cancels.
Also, I was playing a little bit of Venom and he was extremely fun to play.

I used to play a lot but then pic related happened and most games are fucking dead onlne or i need to go out of my way to find matches.

I tried fightcade but most games are too inbalanced for my taste.

Tekken was a game I sunk months and years into as a kid, and thus as an adult I was able to reach a pretty high level. I'm not enough of a fag to go to tournaments but I've played friends who do and have wrecked them.

Anything else I just can't do and I wish I could. I had SF4 and loved the style and the gameplay but I just SUCK at it. I can barely win a game. I tried really hard to improve but I feel like a fish riding a bicycle.

Roman Cancels let you extend some combos, they let you make unsafe moves safe.
I tend to use them more defensively than anything else, but they give you more flexibility.
And yeah, Venom's so much fun to play, he's my go to character.
