Sadly, the advantages of the xbox lie in all the features aside from the games. The interface is fast and slick, easy to use, and is constantly updated and upgraded. Community features work really well and it just feels more "connected" than the PS4. Also they have the advantage when it comes to the controller. Absolute best controller(especially the elite) for modern games. Even though I have an og ps4 and a Pro, I get most multiplats on xboner because of the controller(MGSV, FFXV, etc). I'm hoping w the scorpio that there will be a boost mode or backwards patches for some of the games I already own.

are you retarded? there's no "popularity" shit when it comes to optimization. it's the ease of working with the hardware which leads to good optimization. the ps3 was just as popular as the 360 globally yet it still had inferior multiplats across the whole gen solely because it was a bitch to optimize for. the same goes for the xbox one vs ps4 because the ps4 uses a more conventional hardware config compared to all this esram nonsense on the xbox. the ps4 was also simply more powerful and could brute force through certain scenarios compared to the xbox. the scorpio should be the easier out of the ps4 pro vs scorpio simply because it uses the same api as the pc versions of the games whereas the ps4 pro uses a wrapper (gnmx - which is actually shit, see DmC) or gnm. either way the pro requires more work to optimize for whereas the pc port would naturally work on the xbox one and xbox scorpio with much less optimization.

the gears dev also confirmed that pc ports will be the scorpio versions i.e. full 4k assets etc rather than upscaled xbone versions.

Whenever I play a game I like to play every game in that series god of war was the first game I owned on my ps2 and I've been following it ever since. Xbox One S is a very underrated console

I recently won an Xbox One S and if you are a hardcore Gears/Halo fan its fucking great. Having a 4k monitor/tv and using Plex for 4k streaming from PC for video content is fucking fantastic and the upscaling filter for non 4k games IS a huge plus.

The fact that I can upscale ps3/ps4 whatever fucking console i want through the HDMI IN is a really fantastic feature.

It isnt a bad console, but besides Halo 1-2-3 and Gears 1-2-3-4 what the fuck else is there to play?

Im a PCfag, I just got the xbox one for free and bought Halo MCC to couch co op with friends and Gears 4 cause my brother already owned it on PC so I was able to snag a free copy on the xbox

The upscaling actually does do some sharpening and removes aliasing along edges

tested destiny at 4k on base PS4, then plugged PS4 into the HDMI in and it actually did remove a lot of aliasing in the image without blurring it like FXAA

in certain games like H2 Remaster it does create SOME artifacts, but its hardly noticeable

or bloodborne, aliasing out the ass, when I upscale it through xbox one s, it does eliminate it, but adds sharpening on the chromatic aberration in the game and makes it more apparent

it does make a nice enough difference.

I own an Xbox one, let me break it down for you:

That's the funny thing about it, if the Scorpio has a low enough price and good games announced, and Nintendo has some great games announced for the Switch and 3DS and either start treating the Switch like a handheld or make a 3DS successor, then Sony is in trouble. But Microsoft and Nintendo have a lot a first party games that they just have locked in a vault, Microsoft is investing in new studios so I hope many of their franchises find new homes. I hope Microsoft and Nintendo bring many of these franchises back.
