I agree with the replays. I've done normal, hell, 0%, casual alternative in preparation for speedrun and then the speedrun itself, and I still have two replays left (BEX and third loop).

I don't think they require that much consistency though. Most of the dodge masters can be basically rigged with infinite stuns. The ones that can't are a bit trickier, but they leave a lot of room for error, especially since you're allowed to get hit a few times.

Very fun game though. I went into it thinking it was overrated weebshit, but it ended up becoming my favorite metroidvania.

The game is a lot of fun. The fan service is limited to still character portraits and a small number of still pictures for some story scenes, so don't let it hold you back. The world is huge, items and secrets everywhere, and the boss fights are all pretty fun and fast paced.

Rabi Ribi is my 2nd favorite Metroidvania of all time. It beat out Super Metroid, Guacamelee, Bunny Must Die, and Cave Story for me. I didn't think it would be so good going into it, but I'm thankful for having played it.

Cross Code was one of the two that came to mind (that and Blossom Tales), and even then it's just as much Secret of Mana as Zelda. I played through the first dungeon like a year ago and it was stunningly good, so I'm putting off the rest until the whole thing's ready. Nice to see an early access game where it's mostly just the content being worked on, and all of the core systems were complete and working great.

I bought it because of the overwhelmingly positive steam reviews. I got interested in bullet hell because of Undertale(no, I'm not part of the cancerous fanbase, I thought it was just okay) and looked for more of it. Holy shit, I'm glad I bought it. Probably the best Metroidvania I've ever played. The boss battles were absolutely insane. I played it on hard mode too, which was of course really fucking hard.

I don't really know. I beat 5 bosses, and then stop on someone. Bosses pretty fun at first now tedious, because my damage just too low. I thought finding items makes game easier and more grateful, but it opposite because level system.
Story also don't really give something and even distracting, because order of bosses free, but story segment not. I beated first boss cocoa, i think and what story i got just don't apply to my progression.

Portraits only come up when you talk with someone and the dialog is all skipable. Most NPCs that are not bosses don't even have portraits. Girls standing still facing each and having a conversation is not a whole fuck of a lot of fan service, even if no one has pants on.

Love the shit out of Rabi Ribi but I'm garbage at the game. Can't beat it in normal difficulty. Made to a boss fight in the "real" (?) world against a bunny crazed version of the girl I'm looking for and the evil woman. Can't make it past the second fight because you can only have 2 decent healing items.

I'm just not good at bullet hell platforming stuff... S ranked the succubus fight which was pure bullet hell shmup.

It's depressing to even consider going down another difficulty level. Problem is I don't know exactly what I'm bad at. Just... can't seem to get the hang of dodging shit. Well the idea is that if you explore a lot and get items, since those items give percentage-based increases, you will eventually outstrip the level scaling. Undodgeable attacks also only happen on like BEX and higher (some of Cocoa's final fight attacks are practically not dodgeable on BEX). Regen upgrades actually make bunny amulets recharge faster, too.
