I know it's just a giant fly, but I love all the little touches like the tiger stripe carapace/skulls necklace and staff from the human form, the menacing mandibles and proboscis contrasting with the goofy skull and crossbone symbol on the wings. It's menacing and goofy at the same time and I liked that design ethos for the older demons.

Also despite being the secret superboss, he was one of the very few bosses in Nocturne that didn't fucking spam beast/dragon eye for more turns. Oh sure he'll instakill you if you didn't null mudo, but if you debuff him he'll generally always waste one turn undoing the debuff.

Worst example ever. Odin as a purple dude in a robe... out of all the other explanations of what Odin could look like he went with this bland shit. It's like we're reading eachother's minds. This would be one of the best SMT fan arts to date if not for the gimpage. That wasn't the issue. The problem with IV designs is that they were drawn by guest artists who were either very amateur (original medusa's face looking like that) or overly complicated to the point of garish and then having them made into renders from their drawn on paper art, instead of being digitally redrawn. IV's demons do suffer the art style clashing but that has less to do with IV's new demon designs and more to do with Atlus reusing old art from years back of each game instead of drawing new ones. Having the newer lilim design paired next to that old purple Odin design clashes hard.

Is it just me or does it feel like P5 just used P3-P4 persona and nocturne's models for P5, except with different textures. I mean, Atlus has a long history of reusing assets to save money and guys like the four horsemen's models really look dated outside of their newer textures, especially the stilted idle animations that look just as stiff as their P4 appearances.

This demon is one of my buds in IV but the texture just clash with the rest of the party hard. Its like it wasnt a final design or soemthing, felt like the game were done halfway through.

Some of the 90s ones do need to be updated, but if they were drawn by Kaneko I'd trust him with the redesigns honestly. Also Atlus is cheap, they possibly had a Soul Hackers Loki model already, and didn't bother/couldn't make a Odin Soul Hackers model maybe.

I'll give Doi some benefit of the doubt for Odin's design, considering how the guest artists were more sentai and stuff, maybe he was "persuaded" to make Odin look like one as well. I still don't like his take on Satan, but I do like his fallen YHVH form a lot, it works well in a lot of ways.

You also need to remember that Atlus is frugal as fuck and barely does any new modeling/drawings unless they can be used for a looooooooong time.

Technically amaterasu has a model, which is a bit bland, but it somewhat fits. Arthurian mythos models/drawings might be passed on unless they make a game where it's more centered around that theme.

It's still giving you a free persona at the best level it can be throughout the game. The entire point of the Persona system is to fuse and swap Personas. That defeats the whole purpose when they give you one that auto levels itself free. Your prime persona is always shit by default because you're not meant to keep it. In this situation you'd never need to fuse someone like Surt because Arsene would be autolevel'd and obviously have properly scaling stats and moves because of it. Is it that hard to understand?

It's like how people said the team system in IVA wasn't going to be bad because it was just one all out attack, and that anyone complaining about it making the game too easy was being babies. Well guess what, the team system is so broken that anyone with a brain can have it so you get 16 moves back to back, on top of a full HP heal and a stat buff. It can work, but it requires a complete rebalancing of the system. Persona Q lets everyone keep their base persona, but also has a sub-persona system which encourages fusing and whatnot. Because of that sub-personas are given less skill slots so it's harder to Get every kind of skill you want. Sure, the game is still pretty unbalanced but that's for entirely different reasons.

His Satan is good imo. Its sleek, and somehow as the game itself described the form to me as being elegant but also scary or what not ( I forget the exact wording), I remember feeling convinced. Compared to the other scrapped design for Satan, the one we got is the best, and how it had some parallel to *zipper sounds* second form, it felt fit to me. A re-balancing of the system would be required. As it stands right now, giving an auto-leveling persona would break one aspect of the game, or at least severely fuck over an entire enemy type that's weak against fire, including bosses. The whole concept of "Shit... this boss is giving me trouble. It's time to go grind a persona that has an advantage against it" would be gone since you'd always have one ready for that elemental affinity. It would also invalidate the need to ever use fire Personas aside from maybe Surt, unless you needed them as fusion fodder for a specific persona. It's what that anon doesn't seem to get. More than one aspect of the game would be fucked over just because they gave you something for free.
