Iga specifically insisted on 3D and no 2D. Thing is, he is working under this completely wrong assumption that people won't play low resolution games 2D games. Shovel Knight and others have proven them wrong.

Coloring is kinda bad, individual elements don't seem to have any color, but rather it's colored by functionality - walkables are yellow, background is blue and environment is red. Which is fine I guess, many older CV games did exactly this, but that's because they were limited by palette, and when you have a modern HD game like this it kinda seems weird.
