i played 3FES on my PS3 long ago after playing 4 because i heard it was one of the good ones. so i played it and i was sitting there thinking how the fuck do i control my party members? i figured out you couldn't, and that was just garbage to me. i still tried to go along with it, but most of the time they would do shit that i didnt want them to do.

so i played the portable version. i got into it here and there, but i stopped somewhere after you start seeing that guy with the scarf. i completely lost interest

whereas in persona 4 i was locked in my room for 3 days straight. i loved it so much. and persona 5 was just so good and i can't believe it was even better.

when people say 3 is better than 4 i just cringe

I beat Persona 5 on hard mode. I had an incredible amount of fun and strategy involved in the battles. 3 is literally an atom of fun and strategy in comparison to that and 4 when put on the harder modes.

5 didn't have a single character I disliked. Every gameplay mechanic felt really rewarding, even if the game is a bit on the easy side it's hard to not enjoy the combat. Music is brilliant.

I'd say its about the same as 4. Its mostly easy but there are so many gimmicky fights that you're bound to trip once or twice.

3 is way easier, where every boss is a joke besides Nyx. And of course IS basically plays itself.

3 on hard is more challenging than the original 4 expert or 5 on Merciless mode. The bosses on the higher floors of Tartar sauce can easily wipe out your party if you're not prepared and Nyx is a big endurance rush that uses actually uses status effects effectively and can fuck you over. Fake Igor is a complete pushover that barely does damage to your party since he never used Dekaja and Dekuna for me. Also the Slinks abilities you get in 5 make the game broken like Strength and Star.

Which P3 did you play? The original was hard as balls mainly because you couldn't control your idiot teammates, but the game was balanced around it for the most part. I played Portable later and it was so goddamn easy even on maniacs since you could directly control them and they did not rebalance the game for that.

None of them are particularly hard, but even the mainline SMT series isn't nearly as hard as people claim. I just enjoy the intuitive combat even if it is exploitable.

That's entirely possible, P3 was genuinely my first Megaten and I've played the rest of Persona and most of SMT since then. Maybe I'll revisit FES soon.
