It's not really a matter of that, I just often enjoy things in their native language, maybe I can't understand it but I like the sound of it.

I had fun playing Witcher in polish too for awhile (I did play the second half of Witcher 1 onwards in English though)

With Persona 4 I couldn't stand the dub, most japanese dubs over-pronounce everything and it sounds retarded (Though Dub Kanji was fucking fantastic)

Aside from some annoyingly goofy pronunciations, I quite enjoy the Persona 5 dub.

In the case of Zelda, most NPCs are using Japanese audio for their noises and greetings, like Beedle's "Sa Sa!" nonsense.

That coupled with the fact the Zelda dub voices sound generally shit means I would much rather play the game with Japanese audio, it's mainly the NPC audio inconsistency in Zelda's case that triggers me though.

Not that "bad" voice actors don't exist in japan, but a lot of regular shows and whatnot have Japanese actors and singers who do regular voice work.

For anime maybe, but most games have shit VAs. The amount of games that get top quality VAs is a small number. Many of which never see western shores.

Mate, I grew up reading my games. I got used to no spoken dialogue. It's no skin off my back to switch the audio so I don't have to listen to thirty year olds playing high schoolers. Swear to Christ, the American VA industry has taught me that there are no women in the US under thirty five because they can't seem to find teenagers to voice teenagers.

If I'm watching something, I don't want to be getting pulled out of the moment because I can't stop thinking about the dumb way this voice actor says everything.

I remember watching Dub DBZ & Dub FMA and not once did I have a feeling of being pulled out of the moment due to blatantly weird or awful dubbing, Metal Gear games are another example of being great dubbed. I'm just always looking for the most natural sounding experience when watching/playing something, unfortunately more often than not that is not the dubbed version.

If people watch subtitled things "just" to be cool then they're 15 or a moron, or both. I just want to find the best experience for what I'm interacting with, for me.
