I just downloaded CoD Modern Warfare 2. I have never played a cod game before, I don't give a shit about multiplayer, I just wanted a good singleplayer shoot cunts game, and I heard this is pretty good.

How come everytime you get shot even once on normal difficulty, the screen gets covered in blood?

It's actively punishing you for playing badly. Oh you're getting shot? Here let's make it so you can't see either.

Does anyone know how to turn it off? From what I've read, console commands. But supposedly that might get you a vac ban cause you're fucking with the original game files.
