I'd say social media homogenisation began around 2009/2010. Notably when Twitter and Facebook began to grow exponentially and MySpace died.
Even though the iPhone came out in 2007 touch devices didn't really explode in popularity until 2010, that's when they started appearing fucking everywhere. I'd say 2010 was the definitive end of pre-social media internet.

Some people can remember things well from when they were 5-10, which would place you in the former camp.
