Even if you do implement bullet hell, undertale's "bullet hell" was pitiful, a real shame for bullet hell games and RPGs alike, making an even worst copy of it will just bring you failure and hate.

Go to the appendix section and learn to use powershell if you don't know how to. I didn't know how to do fucking anything with powershell and I still managed to bang that part out in one night. Python isn't hard. The book also has you make a text adventure game towards the end.

My plot, writing, lore, setting and characters are all too well written to be my first RPG. My art still too anime/cartoon-y to be used in a grim-dark setting. I am picking up coding this year and eventually I'll script my own shit so I can have the system I want. My last hurdle is crunching better anatomy and animation and getting someone to do the music. In the meantime I might try to make a shittier RPG but it's gonna lack the depth of my magnum opus.

Because before you were born there was this genre called shmups that didn't rely on a screen full of flashy shit to sell. Calling Undertale a bullet hell just cements shmups being dead when everything gets called a bullet hell instead, regardless if it actually is one.

I was gonna experiment with a turn based RPG roguelikelike but I don't know if it'll be anything other than frustrating. I was gonna take inspiration from actual computer viruses like Flame and Creeper and design them around similar body types (Computer worms looking like actual worms, Viruses looking like Myoviridae, Botnets being giant robots, Bitcoin miners looking like actual miners, etc) the exception being Trojans which actually have a reason to not look like a wooden horse.
