What are some games that are defined just as much by their flaws as they are by their strengths.
Great games that aren't perfect, but their flaws give them a bit of charm.
The ugly can be beautiful. The pretty, never.
E.Y.E.
Mount & Blade

E.Y.E. is so dope. It just oozes the dev's passion for their vision, artistically and mechanically.
Needs a spiritual successor for sure

VtMB and dragon's dogma are pretty much the immediate games that come to mind
i'd say doom is dated (which is a flaw to most normies), but is still fun as shit.
I played some doom with mods a while back and blew my mind how fun an old game can be.
the game is really good at meshing parts of your mind to be like tactical room clearing/key finding, and lizardbrain mindless shooting shit. It constantly switches between these modes so it never really feels stales.

Dragon's Dogma is awesome.
As some random, off-the cuff candidates:
New Vegas
Witcher 1
Dark Messiah
Dragon's Dogma
VtMB
Divinity II
Far Cry 2
KotOR II
Painkiller
Force Unleashed
Styx

good we need population control
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

how does class imbalance and a sometimes unplayably bad climbing mechanic add any charm to this game
>>375792886
The interesting mechanics that it tries to break out of the box with are what give it it's charm. It sets it apart by doing something different, even though it doesnt do it perfectly

I own this game but haven't played it yet, what's wrong with it? The only thing I've heard is no fast travel I think
>>375794237
There is fast travel and the PC port vastly improves upon it.
The bland open world, characters, and story are its biggest flaws in my book. However, the combat is amazing and makes up for it.
