Disgaea knows how to make a UI that doesn't piss you the fuck off.

Everything is responsive and punctual. You don't have to wait for the cute window to pop up, or the screen to fade in and out.

You know you want to do "Menu, Down, Down, Accept, Accept", press that shit and know you'll get it.

D5's UI is just beautifully drawn and I feel bad that I never noticed them until many hours in. And there's something about pressing menu buttons real quick without even reading where your cursor is landing. Or casually navigating menus to the beat of a song.

Im going to start my first disgaea, Disgaea 2 on PSP, is that a good start? I also have a Vita and a Switch.

The first would be better as the second has a few callbacks to the the first. That and its much harder to go back to it after playing the others.

Not only that but D1 story is among the best in the franchise.
Without spoiling I'll just add that many of the characters in the later games loses their fun factor without the proper introduction that the first game gives them.

If D5 doesn't bomb we will probably get Witch and the Hundred Knight 1 and 2 on the switch and a localized version of Coven since it won't be on a dead platform.

Keep in mind that a lot of the talent at NIS jumped ship to Compile Heart after the former stiffed a lot of the senior staff on their paychecks. You should be cautious when approaching a new Disgaea game.

The Switch is the Vitas weeb successor

PC will save Disgaea and maybe Switch will get the scraps. Not that I dislike the Switch (I own one) but the PC market is a huge market that japanese developers are typically too shy to support like some stereotypical anime heroine that just can't tell the MC they want to fuck them. "What if they pirate my software?" equates to "What if his massive cock breaks me in two?".
