Yeah you do eventually when you get to the second form, though you have to go to the various Dwemer strongholds and talk to the other Dagoths first. IIRC I spammed the quicksave button since it briefly removes the blindness effect when the game is saving.

Great House Dagoth, there was another one called the Sixth House but it was less ambitious and didn't have transformations.
