Building a good relationship with customers trumps anything else. A refund policy will overall please people, devs who choose to make short games are a small casualty.

Conversely, the $60 I spent on FFXV was never going to be worth it. I knew that after 15 hours and sold it back for $30. $30 for knowing what the game is all about? Not so bad.

"consumer rights" are not a real thing, the phrase just mean privileges that people are used to. there's no moral compulsion to let people return non-defective products, it's a courtesy companies offer because it's good PR. it's the same reason stores let people get away with people dicks--because it's not worth the hassle and bad press to deal with it, not because the consumers have the "right" to.

Honestly, instead of 2 hours total played it should be ineligible for refund if you play a single 2 hour+ long uninterrupted session, OR 10 hours total.

Why? Most of the bad games are broken in many ways and you can easily spend 3 hours in 10-15 minutes sessions troubleshooting, crashing, restarting and so on before you can actually start playing the game properly. That shouldn't count.

I've bought plenty of games twice, but never for that reason. Buying useless copies could actually be detrimental to a company assuming enough of their fanbase is retarded like you. They'd end up assuming their playerbase is much larger than it is and could invest too much in a product you don't think is worth double/triple dipping and so it'd fail solely because of your faggotry by trying to white knight a company.

But that would apply to a lot of the lower budget slightly broken games that make PC gaming great like STALKER. They do require some tweaking.

AUTOMATIC refunds are under 2 hours. With proper reasoning, an amount of time under 6 hours within the two week period are eligible for refund.

if you pay 13 bucks for a movie ticket you get a an okay high budget capeshit movie with higher production values than games sold in the $10-$20 range such as gone home or dear esther

Only poor people "panic" over money. A normal person would just be annoyed and pissed off.

>I don't understand the hate for it
>Fruit loop hair colored fatty makes walking sim where they just whine

It's pretty obvious who is upset by this.

sometimes you get a good movie
sometimes you get shit
sometimes you get a good game
sometimes you get shit

Yeah that's definitely the context of the discussion. Great job.
>>

Maybe you should learn to write in context yourself then, you stated
>Only poor people "panic" over money.
not
>Only poor people "panic" over a small amount of money.
or
>Only poor people "panic" over 20 dollars.

>thinks this is ok
Also I'm pretty sure you can get a refund for a shit movie.

It is impossible to be specific enough to satisfy every possible ambiguity. That's just how language is, unless you're talking about math (OR SIMILAR, in case you feel like doing it again). The sentiment was obvious from context.

Because DEVS and PUBLISHERS thought demos were a bad idea.

Now if they think they can get away with making swill, beatable in 2 hours; they serve to have their money taken away.

Ummm... sweetie, you do not most gamers nowadays are poor nonwhite males, right? If you make a game that cost more than .99$ and isn't even 3 hours long they deserve a refund and to deny them that is scumbag capitalism.
>>
>>375782391
Is the implication here that if they are obliged to give you your money's worth, then you are obligated to give them the equivilant?
Cause if so I disagree strongly:
The developers / publishers make all the terms of the transaction: the game, and the price they are asking of the game. Hence if they feel later on that they could have asked more of people then that is their fault, they should have asked for more or given you less. If the purchaser was free to pay whatever they wanted, then the developers / publishers would have some grounds for complaint if people gave less than what the developers felt it was worth (assuming that they are being fair and honest in what they believe the game is worth, and are not misguided or lying)
It's lilke tipping; you do it if you feel they did a good job, but by no stretch of the imagination is it required, nor do they have a foot to stand on if they feel entitled to tips. It is at this point I feel the need to mention that I am not American, as things I have heard have lead me to believe that tips work differently in America.

There are honestly two EA mistakes I've made where I hope they finally release so I can instant refund them.

They'll never get released.

>"I tried watching your movie, but I spent the first hour and a half getting this analogy to work but then I remembered those are retarded."

Either way, I'm pretty sure the cinema or your retailer would give you a refund within the time and limitations specified for refunds. Went to the Hobbit Movie in 3d for a laugh, left with sore eyeballs and $12 back.

I was responding to the person who said all games under 2 hours are shit... solely because they're short
