It's there so you can fight the enemies from the palaces after they're gone for story reasons, as well as being a major plot point later on.

You only ever have to run down a maximum of like 5 levels at a time and under levelled enemies run from you not the other way around, so it's not a problem. It'd actually be a bigger hassle without it's existence.

I did a level after finishing a palace but I imagine someone never went into it and had to go through 60 levels at the end all at once kek.

They do if you're overleveled. Can't remember if 4 Golden brought that back but I know P3 had overworld shadows that would flee because of a large difference in your level and theirs.

It would be really nice if they offered some dungeon crawling soundtracks from other games for free but seeing how the battle themes that come with each costume DLC costs something, it's sadly not gonna happen. I liked Fuuka's alternate tracks when going through Tartarus.

They give you incentive to go in here so you can level up Mishima's Confidant. Even if you hate him you can see how useful his level up bonuses are. I don't get how people managed to completely avoid this place. Hell, like 90% of the Confidants in this game require you to go in there. I actually really enjoyed that you didn't in Tora's and that he just deduced it himself
