In the same boat OP, spent countless hours searching how to mod OG xbox to play old school games only to see shit and outdated tutorials. That sorta happens to a lot people who hack their 3ds. At least, I've heard it happen, and it happened to me. We just get so many games that we overload. I almost just gave up on my 3ds. Now, I'm super glad I got everything together.
Just focus on a single game or a couple of them. Don't bounce around too much. Take it slow and get back in the grove.
Socializing is a good thing to do, as well, though. I won't knock it.
