The deadlines aren't really 'urgent' though in a story sense.

Like Totori's for instance is 'this is the time your adventuring license is going to be renewed so make sure you reach a milestone so it isn't revoked'. It drives interest but doesn't feel constraining.

And yes all of them have been remade on Vita at this point. Rorona's remake is on PS3 as well.
