This game worth getting if I liked GalCiv 2 + expansions? How smart is the AI in comparison?

ai is pretty meh, they usually only have one large fleet which whenever war is declared, they will use it to just bum rush your capital. If you defeat that then they just flounder about until you decide you are done with them

Any mods that fix the AI? From videos and other stuff I've read, the game has a certain "flavor" that GalCiv 2 was sorely lacking in. Shit like space horrors and warp gods and genuinely cool random events. GalCiv 2's universe was sterile as shit. There wasn't anything interesting or dangerous out there aside from other civilizations.

Why did they fuck with Strategic Ressources by the way?
Back when the game was out every single source was precious and it could be used for one particular purpose, like a specific building.

Now you just need one ressource and get a passive bonus for the entire empire and can just trade the rest away.

That change is downgrade in every way.Even fucking Civilization doesn't handle ressources this retarded.Sure, it's more convinient but it removes the strategic importance of these ressources.I used to fight fucking wars over systems that had specific ressources.

It's actually War in Heaven being bugged. After occupying every planet in the opposing FE and their alliance and destroying their fleet. The war won't end. The warscore won't reach the threshold. And it's ironman so I can't use the console to fix it.
