Donkey Kong 64 could have been as fondly remembered as the Banjo games but the color-coded banana system makes it a fucking chore to play.
Super Mario 64 is fantastic, of course. Too bad about the camera.
I love the Banjo games but they're much more adventure than they are platformer. The same can be said about DK64.

Never played Croc.
Crash is solid and I really enjoy it but it offers little variety and can get repetitive quickly.
Spyro is good but kind of boring. I've only played the first one though. But I 100%'d it so I must have enjoyed it.

There's not a whole lot of really good N64 platformers but there are a few gems that are definitely worth playing. As for PS1, I wouldn't say I'm really in love with any of their platformers but there's a lot more of them and a lot of them are really good. If I'm going to pick a machine based on platformers, it's going to be PS1.

For platformers? No? For certain genres like FPS, sure. For platformers? Hell no. It had 0 impact. If anything it was better, since it had a stick. Playing platformers on the PS/DS controllers was ass. But the DS has always been ass, in general.

DK64 was a tech demo, Banjo was a collectathon, Croc was shit and Crash was a tuberunner.

The only good games were Mario 64 and Spyro, I'd say Mario is better because it was more versatile, every level was it's own thing and they changed things up, some levels had you swimming and some flying, there were multiple ways of finishing levels, you had to figure out how to find the different stars and the boss battles were pretty fun. After you played 10 minutes of Spyro you had seen it all.
