Fi can speak to everyone, did you not play Skyward Sword? She routinely speaks to Scrapper and many NPCs react to her words whenever she pops out. Plus >>375714102 anyway.

As for the Master Sword thing, it's said that Link was still weaker than he was 100 years before when he first wielded it, so pulling it out and getting life drained was a test to see if he was strong enough. Remember that every Link has to prove himself one way or another before being able to pull out the Master Sword, usually by collecting the required plot trinkets. This time it was a heart requirement.

Also, Zelda didn't pull out the Master Sword, she just put it back in the pedestal. She wasn't supposed to be its wielder, although being the human incarnation of Hylia who created it, she probably could anyway.

...is a game. Any drama they put around gating content is forced to heighten the sense of achievement. Would've been boring of the sword just popped into your inventory, and making it lethal to the unprepared is more interesting than text saying "you need 5 more stars to open this door!"
