I used to have like 6 of these and some of them is GEi and DStwo. I recommend DStwo to emulate GBA and real time cheat activation. For your question, yes although some don't work on 3ds and latest DSi version unless you have the updated firmware version. R4 Gold and DStwo still works on latest 3ds version so go for it.
