If they did some kind of altfire where he can shoot grenades that explode after a certain distance, that would be good. I only say explode after a certain distance because if it had essentially unlimited range then you would sort of be going against reapers thing where he's solid at close range, but this would still offer a damage source outside of having to get in arms reach with the standard shotty.

Maybe do something with the soul globes dropped, have teammates able to pick them up too if you get the kill on the enemy or offer an overheal buff just for yourself? e.g. 250 health + soul gives you 300 health, 221 health + orb gives you 271 health and if you're below 200 then the stack doesn't apply.

but mercy is a character that attracts a lot of people
she was made with the intent that even your girlfriend could get into the game and feel like she's good and is accomplishing something valuable for the team

It's kinda annoying to hack Soldier to effectively win over him as her. I track better than the average soldier but his biotic field effectively gives him 300 HP and all he needs to do is shoot his rocket at my feet and plant one bullet in my body to win. I hate that boring hero so much.

Theres no middle ground between completely invincible Res which more or less means shes going to be in every game and being vulnerable during a res which means her selection plummets. Its just a terrible design decision to have a resurrection in the first place, they could rework it into being a massive group AOE heal but then thats what Zen does. Shes a healer whose role completely changes as soon as she builds ult, it goes from keeping people alive and having fun shooting and fighting to hiding as much as possible and letting people die.
