I really hope they get a move-on with Daggerfall Unity. The game's good, but it BEGS to be put on a modern engine. Especially now that DaggerXL is likely never going to see the light of day

TES started to really to become its own thing with Daggerfall, though a huge bulk of the lore comes from Morrowind.

Arena is every region, but it's a single story, not really much in the way of the lore of the world. This was when TES was just being based on the dev team's D&D game.
Daggerfall is 2 regions (mostly the provinces within) but delves into ancient-lore stuff, not a lot but enough to get started. It gets expanded a lot in Morrowind

This has nothing to do with it. It's just that before Morrowind someone locked himself up for a weak, took various drugs + sleep depravation and came up with most of its cosmology.

Also nudity is lore-friendly.

Arena has all the provinces, but almost no lore. It's more of a generic dungeon crawler. Daggerfall added history and politics, but it only covers the parts of Hammerfell and High Rock that make the Iliac Bay. Morrowind only covers one part of aprovince, but added books about other provinces too.

Redguard is the one that made the world what it is now by including the Pocket Guide to the Empire.
