This is what's going to happen

They're going to do another direct. Mario Odyssey will be a large focus, then they will show a bunch of 3DS stuff nobody asked for, Wii U ports and amiibos. Of course there will be some other previously announced games there like Splatoon 2, Xenoblade 2, Fire Emblem heroes, BOTW dlc etc.

The only people I have met in real life that act that way were children. Children that bickered between each other over which game is better, CoD, or Halo. Both sides, consisting of children to teenagers, arguing for Sony or Microsoft, and saw Nintendo as for children. I showed them Bayonetta 2's case, and they thought that Nintendo must have bought the rights to have that game from Sony.

The most reasonable person that only slightly disagreed with me on things was a PC only person, and he blatantly stated he doesn't have the money to do both, so he just sticks with PC, and waits for stuff to go on sale.
