Is there any reason to not use pic relate?
>>
>>375673585
if you don't have an overclockable processor
>>
>>375673585
I bought it since my stock intel one died like 2 months ago.

Works great.
>>
Actually I been wonder
but are close loop coolers any good?
>>
>>375673783
yes
>>
>>375673585
Yes it doesn't say Noctua on it
>>
>>375673783
no, get a Noctua for better cooling and less noise
all-in-one coolers are pointless

>>375674057
what? are you poor?
>>
>>375673783
I have a Kraken and I can say that the noise on AOI is a meme. I don't hear anything and get 4.7 GHz stable on my 7600K. I don't know about other coolers though.
>>
>>375673783
Closed loop cooler still use fans, I don't see the point, theres not even a reason to OC nowadays. Still I rather have an aftermarket cooler that uses a big 120 or 140 mm fan than an 80mm tiny and loud fan.
>>
>>375673585
i bought a scythe kotetsu.

it's $10 more and is about half as loud. it cools about as well as my nh-u14s too
>>
>>375674317
i recently dropped a closed loop for a big chunky NH-14, never gets anywhere near the temps the h80i got so the fans dont rev up.

there ok i guess but they can fail or get worse over time, nothing compares to a giant piece of metal
>>
the stock ryzen 5 cooler is good enough to reach 4.0 ghz
>>
Cryorig H7 master race.
>>
The Cryorig H7 is better in performance and aesthetics + ram clearance
>>
>>375674769
>>375674731
It's a fucking bitch to install though
>>
how do i stop my fan from vibrating?
it's one of those that just pops off when you pull it off hard enough - nzxt brand if that matters

i pulled it off (the fan blades) and sprayed a little silicone on the axel but it' still vibrating
any protips? maybe actual grease?
>>
>>375673585
I've had my PC for 4 years with the CPU's stock fan and it still works flawlessly.

>>375673585
Find a flaw.
>>
>>375674972
means the bearing is fucked or the heat sink isnt torqued on tight enough
>>
I fall for custom loop meme few years back and thinking of getting 1080ti to replace my 690

so I just gonna just use stock cooling for GPU and maybe get either close loop or any Air cool CPU and be done with it.

kinda more leaning toward air cooler because Im so sick of water pump noise
>>
>>375673585
If you're not overclocking, which then just a stock cooler will do.

Or if you're doing serious high level overclocking, in which case it's liquid cooling or maybe a Noctua.
>>
>>375673585
It's fucking enormous.
>>
>>375675098
>Meme company that can't even produce the wattage advertised on most PSUs
Hahah, this retard didn't buy an Evga
>>
>>375673783
They're pretty good and can provide more cooling than even the best air coolers can, but it's pretty much overkill for everyone in terms of the sort of cooling they need, even if they are overclocking.
>>
>>375674145
>calling someone poor who buys the more expensive item

Go big or go home
Memesair's need not apply
>>
>>375675109
it's a case fan so i guess the bearings might just be "fucked"
so like new fan or lubricant?
>>
>>375673585
yea, Noctua.
>>
>>375673585
it was a pain in the ass to install but it does the job

next time I'm getting a water cooler for sure
>>
>>375675704
as meme as this may sound try plugging it out of your motherboard booting shut pc off plug back in.
for whatever reason my bios would supply too high of a voltage for one of the case fans and cause an annoying rattling noise.
if that doesn't work you need a new fan.
>>
>>375673783
get one with a good warranty like corsair.

here's the issue with aios, they leak.

>inb4 it never happened to me

there's still a chance and it can fuck your entire system. corsair will replace up to $1000 if their shit leaks and it's their fault.

i'd recommend a good slim air cooler like the scythe kotetsu, cryorig h7 or noctua nh-u12s. they're going to be quieter, cheaper and you won't have to worry about it leaking or potentially bending your motherboard with a mammoth air cooler.
>>
I can't fit Ripjaws underneath it unless I put them in different ram slots.
>>
>>375674592

With AIO coolers, I'm worried if they spring a leak.

With big air coolers like the Noctuas, it seems like it's really bad for the motherboard to have that giant hunk of metal hanging off of it torquing the fuck out of it.

I know both are pretty extreme and rare issues and have warranties and stuff in case anything happens but it bugs me.

Ultimately, I'm leaning towards running a AIO.
>>
>>375675916
>next time I'm getting a water cooler for sure

water coolers more like regret coolers
>>
>>375673585
Hey! I had this one
It's expensive as fuck
>>
>>375673783
Water cooling is useful if the expected maximum heat output of the component or components being cooled is greater than an air cooler can handle. For a 4 core processor air cooling is fine even if you're overclocking. If you wanted to water cool a video card then you might as well connect the cpu to the loop also, especially if it has more than 4 cores.
>>
>>375676201
I'm planning on getting a water cooler, and I figure if I mount it on the front intake, not only will I have better overall system temps, but if there's a leak at some point, there's more of it in a place it won't matter and can avoid frying components.
>>
>>375676562
>30 bucks
>expensive
>>
>>375674057
>that horrible pink, salmon, wine whatever color it is
This product could be good but it's anti asthetic
>>
>>375676984
Their product is good and has been good long enough they could color all their stuff with vomit and I'd still buy it. Besides, how often are you looking in your computer?
>>
>>375676859
In my country you can have 3 good quality meals for this amount
>>
>>375674967

Not really
>>
>>375677212
I ain't american either, but if you're buying a PC, 30 dollars is nothing compared to other PC parts
>>
>>375677137
My pc case ( and many other cases) has a big "window" where I can see if the mother board lights and other components are running ok. Now a days asthetic in pc building is something
>>
It's not 2014 anymore, there are better aftermarket CPU fans on the market now.
>>
>>375677510
Yeah, a good PC costs at least 1500 trumpollars.
Unless you play in a toaster
>>
>>375677585
such as?

Been using one of these for 2 years now and it's been fine for my oc 4690k. They offer a free ryzen kit too so if I ever upgrade I can use it on that.
>>
>>375673585
i used to use it until it started rattling every time i booted up my pc. so i got a cryorig instead. quiet and ultra cool. love my choice
