That's more because they release multiple levels of content several times over a patch cycle. WoW inflation got out of control almost as soon as BC hit and accelerated even faster with fewer layers of content.
I'd expect an ilevel or stat compression with 4.0 unless they're consciously aiming for characters to hit the 100k damage cap.

Vengeance is one of the simpler tanks but it still requires proactive thinking. In XIV, when a big hit is coming you just press a button. Vegeance benefits from prepping enough soul fragments ahead of that big hit and using it reactively. Only Inner Beast really compares to that but hey WAR is the only good tank in XIV.

As a Second Life clone for Square fans and cutesty girls, this is the game for you.

For everyone else who plays mmos to actually be able to explore, customize, and play a combat that doesn't treat them like kids, FFXIV is an entry level themepark that is less a gameplay MMO and more of a pretty attraction.

The game is boring in the sense that it lacks everything for an engaging mmo on the gameplay level, but as far as immersions similar to Second Life, it pulls people in who want that experience.

FFXIV is mostly made for casual players, so it makes sense why it's so easy.

You know you will never be able to say raids are more difficult between two mmos because FFXIV was made with a very scripted experience in mind, while WoW is made for more strategic party creation due to nature of the breadth of its class system. That's why neither of us can say one is difficult by the raid alone. That's an argument that has no comparison gameplay system wise.

However, as far as the core gameplay between both games, FFXIV is objectively the easier game with more handholding.

It's legitimately the best MMO on the market but fucking XIV and WoW simpletons hate on it because it patterned off their style of MMO. It's extremely enjoyable, unique, and non-grindy. Pair that with the lack of sub fee and it's the most fun I've had with an MMO in a decade.

I almost exclusively play MMOs, but TESO is the only one i actually consider fun. WoW and XIV are more like virtual jobs.

No one here plays it though and if you talk about it, people either A. bring up shit from the CB years ago or B. Call it dead even though it's doing better than XIV.
