I bought the Sennheiser HD555 for 80 Euros some years ago, and they have the exact same hardware as the 200 Euro HD595 except they added some tape to make it worse (so they only manufacture one model and sell it at two different prices).

Removing the tape to turn them into HD595s required me to remove like 2 screws or something, that was it

I wouldn't know about their higher-end stuff, but I own both HD595 and DT770 Pro which were about the same price when I bought them. Sennheiser is much, much more comfortable and sound overall more pleasant.

DT770 Pro were relatively cheap and they're pretty damn amazing too.
You should get an actual SFX card too, though. Makes a noticeable difference even with shit headphones, compared to the standard integrated shit.

i use a pair of DT990s as my daily driver with a 2i2, great for gaming thanks to the great range in treble, needs turning down a notch for music and movies but thats done in less than a minute.
