Evoland 2 had pretty fun one.

MC is a time traveller who lost his memory after travelling.

First plot twist was pretty obvious. MC is literally terminator who was sent through time in order to catch a single person and has killed a lot of people to achieve his goal. Said target is actually the final boss, and it was them who caused MC's amnesia. Right before the final clash, boss jumps to the past. After defeating the final boss, MC settles with his waifu and lives a good life, raising their children.

Second plot twist happens after the credits, when MC from the past massacres actual MC's family. Not sure why they did it, but that was both funny and messed up.

Even though the game tries too hard to be Chrono Trigger and has a lot of dumb problems, I still loved it.

There is the mainland, and an island. Humans on the mainland use alchemy to attempt to create humans that can turn into Titans at will, like Eren, Annie, etc., but repeatedly fuck up and get lots of human stuck in Titan-mode, where they also lose their intelligence. My question is, why send them to that island in particular? Why not another uninhabited island? Someone mentioned that the island is like a prison - a prison for the humans? But these humans seem to have been on the island for years, and are born there? They don't know they're in a prison? The Mainland is at war with the island, but the island doesn't know it? and they sent in Reiner and Annie as covert ops agents to take the island down from the inside?
