This is why I play for a few months every year. I miss out on progression on EX (never enjoyed the 8man savage raids), but it's a lot better than grinding tomes every day while getting a trickle of content every 3 months. The game is alot of fun right now that I've come back basically since 3.1/3.2. So many dungeons and raids and primals and raids to do. Gonna be massive playing up until the end of the summer.

This is a mentality that carries over from World of Warcraft for a lot of healer mains, as WoW classes are structured in a way that if, say, a Holy Priest wants to do any kind of damage...They just respec into Shadow. Sure the healing specs do have damage abilities, but they've only ever been useful

The traditional Final Fantasy (And many other JRPGs) philosophy of "White Mage" just boggles their fucking minds. They can't fathom that the healing job they're playing was never actually classified as a healing job. It's always been "The Support Job", expected to be doing other things when they aren't casting as heal spell. Same applies to every job like it.

If you see your healer is getting burst, trow a clemency at them immediately.
If there's mostly physical DPS on them trow Cover.
I do mean physical DPS because it doesn't work on casters.
Tetsudo (25% damage resistance when fully buffed) isn't only for you, you can safe your teammates with it too on top of clemency.

Time your stuns as much as you can, don't just stunlock the healer when no one is targeting them and none of your DPS are focusing someone.
Being unable to stun a healer because a PLD went ham on them is the fucking worst.

If you see your team focusing a specific target, trow a full swing at it (20% additional damage when buffed).

Glory slash can also interrupt.


Honestly, PLD is the most support oriented job in the game in PVP.

Well the Monk 30-50 quest line was astoundingly painful and nonsensical.
No job base like the ninjas dojo, just hanging around the Goldsmith front door for no reason. The Monk guy never actually teaches you anything, you just spontaneously learn new chakra moves yourself and at the end he tries to take the powers himself. And the whole quest line mostly consisted of you going around planting things into the ground at the behest of the scientist guy.
Is this the lowest of the job quest lines?

PotD is explicitly for leveling alts. The BLM quests are probably some of the best I've played because it's about forming a bond with a bunch of outcasts of different races as they teach you to become a powerful mage and to work together to defeat a great evil. If you just want to craft without caring about quality, I recommend you to level ARM to 50 too, the cross-crass skill Piece by Piece is fucking great for that. GSM at level 54 will give you Maker's Mark, another great skill to have too.

I can't really think of a reason to use a OT other than for those forced OT mechanics like thordans spear or sephirots towers. OT will always be DPS with defensive cooldowns and it will stay that way unless they revamp how damage from bosses works or they change up how to mitigate attacks like using active mitigation instead of "press button to reduce damage for 20 seconds".
