Between the first floor, your transition, second floor, and tails, you really should have no problem placing puyos down.

It especially helped those games keep their own identity when they were trying to be a successor to Puyo Puyo instead of just dragging its legacy along with itself. I don't care for the 20th Anniversary art shift, and I care for Chronicle's even less.

For me, getting better at tetris meant learning a bunch of tricks.
For example, always two flat squares in case you need to place an O block. Also, if you have a 2-deep hole, don't put anything on either side that way both a J and an L piece can fit.
Use your hold to prevent placing badly, instead of using it to hold I pieces.
J's fit with J's to make a rectangle. Same with L's.
After that, practice going as fast as you possibly can.
Only after you've done this can you begin to work on T-spins, and that is just more pattern recognition.

Tetris took me a million attempts, and I didn't even get two stars or more, and I thought I was good at Tetris. These games always turned into endurance rounds, no matter how many Tetris clears I comboed into a line, he always found a way to rebound back.

How do I get gud at t-spinning, and just spinning pieces in general? I played against a jap that wrecked me with t-spins, and watching him spin L pieces blew my mind. Placing pieces in weird places just to get a spin is completely foreign to me because the only tetris games I've played don't allow for crazy spins. Is there a guide somewhere to setting up t-spins?
