The story is even worse in the DLC.

Oh and instead of urban freerunning now you have to get around with a buggy through the countryside. While ramming into crowds of infested can be fun at first, it gets tedious real quick. Not to mention you have to repair the shit all the fucking time. Oh and of course there's the buggy skill tree which you unlock only with constant use of said buggy.

The story itself is also a shitshow. Somehow., despite what you accomplished at the end of Dying Light's main story, antizin supplies are running dangerously low. Apparently the outside world isn't shipping it to Harran anymore, for some convoluted reason. I don't know what they were thinking.

If you want to know the story, here's the summary:

They get some survivor from the countryside who talks about not turning into one of those zombies, despite being bitten and not using any antizin. Crane sets off to find how they do this. Apparently it was all related to some kind of gas that the military developed, but even so, it doesn't stop you from turning, it merely slows down the process. The last phase of the transformation leaves you as a sentient Volatile. But you're only sentient in the daylight, during the night you go feral. Anyway, turns out there's no fucking cure, infected are running rampant in Harrant and you get a choice at the end: arm a nuclear bomb and kill everyone and everything on the island or go back home, but in the process turn into a sentient Volatile and emerge from the sewers outside of some children's playground just as the sun is setting.

What really pissed me off about that is that I was finally happy with Dying Light at it's ending. Kyle Crane stops being a total fucking failure and mans the fuck up, antizin plothole aside, and everything up from where he machetes the fuck out of Ras' men and then stabs him in the neck while dangling over the edge was great.

And then the DLC happens, and suddenly all that build up and Crane not fucking up anymore is irrelevant, because the bittersweet but hopeful ending is now just a shitshow ending. A complete waste of time, there is no logic behind making such a DLC.

Money is the logic. My favourite DLC plothole is that the whole thing started with them not being able to get out of Harran but then you do the fucking sidequest to escort the country girl into Old Town through a tunnel.
