Most likely a fan reaching the end of its lifespan. My pc started to make airplane noises everytime I turned it on and had to wait like 30 minutes before it went back to normal. First it was case fans doing noise, I simply unplugged them (PC wasn't running hot at all anyway).

Then it was the PSU fan, now that'd be bad.. hitting it thankfully did the work. Every time I'd restart the PC it'd typically be noisy again, but I let the PC run 24/7 anyway, but sometimes it randomly happened out of nowhere and was annoying as fuck.

Then one day the PSU fan flat out died and PSU overheated. It shut itself down and was fine after cooling down (took forever). But now I didn't have a working fan... so rather than properly replacing I connected a large Air Tube to a large room fan for maximum air, PC now looked ridiculous but it still worked.

And then.. one of the two cpu fans died (had two cpu on that box).. it overheated and never recovered. Rest in peace.

Assembling a PC is about as difficult as Lego. You even get the same sort of instructions on where each part goes, and in fact it might even be easier than Lego, because parts are designed to only go where they're supposed to, for the most part. The only fiddly bit is the case connectors, but they're usually bundled on modern cases, and even if they're not, it just takes reading the manual for 5 minutes to get the idea.

I've got the same mobo, solid as a rock, even if the lights do look a bit gay. Asus are generally known as one of the better companies for components, along with MSI and Gigabyte. Unless you fuck something up in a major way, like rubbing yourself all over a carpet and discharging some major voltage into the mobo, then you really shouldn't have any problems. Just open up the manual and you'll find detailed explanations of each and every port, socket and connector, along with instructions on what goes there.
