So I never really understood the point of putting Furry on someone whose going to end up getting hit. The extra 6 damage you're taking doesn't seem to be worth it when the people you send these fury units on will probably kill the opponent anyways. Are there spreadsheets of match-ups that fury makes a definitive effect on? Why not just give them Life and Death 3, the -5 def and res will equal 1 less damage than what fury will have you take anyways? or is it all for the fact that Fury's damage is after the fact, and cannot kill the character?

-spd +HP. His being a hard check to green mages made him worth using, but his speed did cause me to lose matches. He's been holding up MUCH better with Life and Death. Most other swords run fury, which is +3 speed. But if you run L&D with a speed seal you're getting +6, which makes up for his -spd entirely. Only case you might regret the def/res drop is against something like a fully buffed death blow S!Camilla. Also L&D + vantage + hone attack puts out a shitton of damage.

You could also run QR I guess, but I like being able to contend with other red swords if I must.

Sigurd starts off far stronger compared to the rest of his army compared to Ike or Hector. He can solo his half of the game with zero investment. He even gets a silver sword in the prologue to top it all off. Although rare it's very much possible to get Ike or Hector killed by accident, but with Sigurd you'd have to get rid of his weapons and send him off alone if you want him to die. The only thing that can really kill him is the plot.

A 4* +5 is equivalent to a 5*, though.
In fact, it's BETTER as far as Arena matching is concerned (higher ranked).

Never mind a merged +5 units, regardless of level, has an extra ~4100 SP or so.

In short, if you don't plan on making your unit 5* because it doesn't need to be, then don't. Merge that sucker. As soon as it's +6, it's BETTER than a 5*.

I wish HP was the only IV that would change your stat distribution by +3/-3. The fact that this game values 3 HP as much as, say, 3 Attack or 3 Speed is pretty ridiculous when you can use the +3 HP Sacred Seal to negate a bad HP IV but not a -ATK or SPD one.

Well, Eliwood can be slightly better on offense with his Durandal and Deathblow giving him, no joke, +26 Atk. If you had Darting Blow instead (because you got a +Spd Eliwood), he's very fast and could double, instead. Nevermind the Cav buffs. Having Iceberg or Glacies turns him nuclear.

The problem is, he's horrible on defense. Eldigan and Eliwood have basically the same stats, just reversed Def/Res. Why that's a problem is...Eliwood is still a sword. He's not a mage. He can't counterattack those mages and he can't confront the melee units he IS able to counterattack. His defense ends up sucking.

Eldigan, on the other hand, uses Fury to boost all his stats and tanks melee untis (which is does counter attack) like a MONSTER. Being cavalry, he's also pretty good about running away from mages, he only real fear. Furthermore, his 16 MT weapon is a Killer variant: giving him Bonfire/Ignis or Draconic Aura/Dragon Fang is extremely rewarding since it charges in no time and his nuke is even more powerful than Eliwood's. Finally, Eldigan can afford to have a bane in literally any stat. He has base 45 HP, his attack is enormous with a killer wep, he never needed spd, he wants def but it's still really large, and having even lower abysmal Res is always logical since as a human you know to avoid magic.

As a last note, Xander has practically identical stats to Xander, is free (you'll get two of him) and his weapon isn't a Killer Weapon...it's a built-in Distant Counter. He'll be the best red cav yet.

On the subject of Palla. What would be a good way to make her a good member of a flying memeteam beyond providing goad? Doubling down on her Ruby Sword with TA seems like the best way to go for tanking hits from Nino or Hector. but I've also got a 5* karel i have no intention of using that I could use to give her Wo Dao+ with her moonbow, on the other hand she doesn't seem fast enough to utilize it all that well.

I'll assume you're gonna put it on a unit with super high Def.

Bonfire (CD 3) will likely give you an extra ~18 damage when it procs.
Ignis (CD 4) will likely give you an extra ~28 damage when it procs.

So answer these questions for yourself:
1) Do you need the extra 10-15 damage on that one attack?
2) Are you using a weapon (Brave, Killer) that makes charging the Special relatively trivial?
3) Same with speed, are you doubling? Surviving being doubled? Quick Riposte? Is that paired with that Brave/Killer weapon?

I chose Ignis for my Eldigan because at 37 Def, he gets an extra 32 damage every time he launches he special, with is, by itself, more than 75% of an enemy's HP. It lets him tackle ANY unit, including blues or Knights, and not worry. Plus, his Mystletainn means it's a 3 charge. It's ready every other turn. Or faster, because he is slow as shit and can tank melee at 0x2 constantly. Ignis is perfect, PERFECT, for him.

Finished and put this team up the other day and I've been raking in the defense wins. Kinda surprised, I thought I'd be losing to mages and I probably still am, but I've seen a number of mages and red swords in my defense win screens.

I want to build a better offense team based around Ryoma but i'm not sure who I should put around him. I'm working on an Azura right now and the only good mages I have are Tharja, MRobin, and SCamilla, I have some 4* Liliana's and Nino's but I'm not sure they're worth the investment, I don't even have to feathers to promote them atm.

Depends on your team comp. If you're using Reinhardt to deal heavy damage, then Eliwood is his best teammate as he has 32 res to wall out Julia and Nino. If you want a physical tank and want to nuke enemies with quick reposte+Luna, then Eldigan is what you want if you have him.

Xander has the potential to outclass both as a tank and a mage counter since he has strong physical bulk and a ranged counter. If you want to run 2 swordsmen and reinhardt, then Eliwood is still your runner up.

In any case, every form of cav meme is irrelevant because Ursula can ORKO the entire cast with the broken blade tome. Gacha games aren't known for balance changes, but we never know with nintendo.

Making her very fast with Darting Blow so she doubles lets Moonbow (2 CD) proc constantly while Wo Dao+ adds +10 damage every time is activates...which is every single combat, basically. Reposition or Draw Back are great Assists for fliers. Wings of Mercy lets her get into position for Goad as you need it, though giving her Caeda's Fortify as an homage is extremely useful for the flying meme assuming you have Bunmilla, who will love you for having it.

Ruby Sword+ is still good to tank the fuck outta any green unit, no problem. She doesn't need TA. Plus, half her kit SHE COMES WITH already.

I've never pulled Karel, let alone two of them to pass along Wo Dao+...

I think Vantage Hector would probably be a better fit personally, but Ike looks like he has that one covered already. I would personally give Ike Luna instead of Moonbow because that way it will mostly go off on a fresh target, but eh.

Other than that, looks very solid. Vantage Ike and Hector are really fucking scary to go up against.

hector is a joke on defense. it makes it a 4vs3 every time unless you dedicate a dancer to him or make him much less threatening by giving him WoM instead of vantage which is a huge waste given that every red can deal with him thanks to SI. the hardcounter to rein is julia, nino and maybe buncilla, don't remember her res right now. one isn't a natural 5*, one very rare and one not available anymore. rein with a decent SI build is a threat to greens with little res even.
