I honestly like the potential that she brings in the story. I think Tabata wasn't lying when he said he wanted to change the heroine because he wanted the heroine to have a larger involvement in the story. Omen trailer clearly hints that Luna might be more important in the story than most people give her credit for. She could also be the one pulling strings with Regis the whole time because she knows about what Noctis' fate is. She's probably the closest person to the protagonist as well as they have been writing constantly writing to each other for 12 years, and Luna is the person that Noctis trusts all his secrets and endeavors when the people around him are preparing him to be the next King in line.

Luna knows his strength and weaknesses and I think she's one of the people that Noctis listens to and would do the things she asks. I honestly cannot wait to play the game to see how her character plays out in the story.

The first HALF is open world, not 2/3rds. The open world parts of the map are the 3 areas I posted, which take about 10 hours to clear. After that it's linear and backtracking.

It's reasonable to assume that Accordo is another one. The game moght go linear once you reach Niflheim but even than I don't expect it to be linear in the sense of consisting of corridors but more in the sense of consisting of smaller open areas like Witcher 2.

Luna is far more interesting and multi layered than most people give her credit for. I get the sense that she withholds a lot more knowledge about the dire importance of Noctis’ ascension to the throne than she lets on. As she parts ways from Nyx, she is clearly aware of how crucial her quest is and that she literally holds the future of the world in her hands. She likely foresaw (and accepted) her own death and hides that information as her objective and sole duty now is to ensure Noctis rightfully fulfills his destiny to save the world. And if for whatever reason he has to kill her to do so as the trailer implies, he would obviously be devastated by it and refuse. If he was still sane by then that is.

So Luna (and Gentiana?) will have to wield her words carefully and delicately manipulate Noctis to travel whatever she perceives is as the correct path when they finally meet. And we all know that he will follow her to the very ends of all worlds. After all, the Night needs the Moon to save them all.

I’m loving the implied twist on Luna being a typical hapless damsel in distress being guided by her King when it’s looking to be the complete opposite in FFXV itself. Our Queen is incredibly strong, focused and is absolutely far from a weakling. I cannot wait to finally see her full potential unfold and discover just how and why Noctis’s and her fate are so intricately intertwined.

Let me ask you this: What makes a Final Fantasy game?

Long running games have common themes among them. Recognizable enemies, locations, characters, worlds. If you played a game and liked it, chances are you want to see most of what you enjoyed on the first game on the next one.

Final Fantasy, however, decide to scrap everything and start anew every time, giving me little reason to follow the series. Worst, if I actually enjoyed any given game, chances are I will hate the next one because it will be anything BUT similar to the previous.

XV, good or bad, barely remind me of a Final Fantasy game. They could call it "Destiny Crusade" and I would not know better... except by a hint, put there to alert me: there are Chocobos.

The yellow bird is the last straw connecting the series for me, and the mark which Final Fantasy separate it from it's lowly chocobo-less RPG brethrens.

am i the only one getting sick of these summons? sure, they've been in ff forever, but I much prefer unique summons that fit each world, like FF12's.
