You want your fetish? Make it just a suggestion that you won't get mad it might not be drawn.
You want your unfunny joke? Though one, better of making it yourself if you can't plant the idea.

For example I would find it funny to see a picture of James Bond on the cover of GoldenEye going to the dentist. The image I have in my head is not something I can share with you all because it is in my head and does not exists. However this text might be enough for someone to find the situation funny and give it a try.

As a drawfag the hangups with style always seemed a problem to me, doing it your way is anything but bad.
Personally I wouldnt like to just replicate someone elses style, seeing characters drawn by different artists and different styles is great. That said, a 1:1 style copy is good too, but personally I like seeing characters done in other peoples styles more, cant speak for everyone there though, and I know for a fact some people prefer it done in the original style.

A problem I could see people having is western or tumblr style or something like that depicting a character that is anime. Sometimes it just doesnt work.

It really depends on the artist and style to me. If I directly ask someone to take a shot at my request, you can be certain I like their style and don't care if they stick to the source material or not. In general, if someone can stick to the source material, that well and good but it is not something I am generally looking for, I just want to see the request done. I just don't really like western realism style much so I don't want that at the very least. If I am requesting my waifu, I really don't care if you stick to the source material because I have plenty of her in that style, I wanna see her in the artist's style. Really as long as the stick compliments the character, I am fine.
