How the fuck are you supposed to do it? Specially with poise being obsolete, how?? It's a fucking garbage boring ass boss battle that shouldn't exist. It's artificial difficulty at it's finest.

Even if you do manage to kill them you can't deny it's one of ,if not the worst least creative boss battle of the entire series.

Not really. Boss fights in Souls are never balanced around white phantoms, so have a few optional ones where your friends can get in on the fun is great.

You're supposed to summon for these fights though. There's one coop area in each DLC, that's why even people who didn't pay for it can set down signs and get some of the equipment drops as rewards.

All three areas, Cave of the Dead, Iron Passage, and Frigid Wastes are designed to be cooped and each have at least two npc phantoms to support you if there aren't any signs.

Sure, I'd say the Tomb Raiders and the cat duo are pretty ridiculous, especially the Raiders because they pull some bullshit animation cancels and have unnatural poise, but aside from that there's no problem with the levels.

Kite the guys away from the Archer and lead them down into the water. It's easy to lose them down there, so you go back up to the surface where the Archer stays because he snipes you. Get in a few hits and when the two guys come back up, repeat the process.

Once the Archer is dead, it becomes your typical 2v1 with a slow dude and a fast dude like O&S. Either do the same trick by forcing them down into the narrow corridors of the water where you can take on one at a time, or git gud and parry them.

That's not exactly balanced around white phantoms anymore than any other gank squad boss is though, or even any regular boss, and summoning phantoms was meant to be a way to make things easier anyways, it's just that bosses become too easy with multiple people.

Gank squads are stupid and don't belong in souls games, especially if it's just 3 npcs lazily thrown in there for no reason.

Why not? There's three NPCs and you can get 2-3 other phantoms with you, meaning that you can turn the fight into a fair 1v1 if you summon.
