If you buy AMD anything you're better off throwing your money into the trash, dousing it with lighter fluid, and striking it aflame with a match. You're also KUCK
AMD is alright if you want to save money, I'd go for it if I was poorfag.

This.
>tfw had to look up a sub-500€ laptop for a relative last year
>ended up getting one of those AMD 4-core systems with the on-board Radeon and 6GB RAM
>totally shocked that my 2012's 400€ Intel i3 laptop ran everything faster and with higher settings
Had to tone down ETS2 to sub-720p, 75% scaling and customized low settings on the AMD machine just to get 20fps average, while I can run it at the 720p, 100% and low-med on the Intel, at 30fps average..

If you're that poor you're better off saving your money for a couple extra weeks/months and buying something that actually runs games without shitting the bed.

That's funny. I'm pretty sure my shit runs BLOps 3, it'll run Arma 3, Anno 2205
Dying Light

Witcher 3
And it didn't shit the bed in either case.

4690K @ 4.6GHz and 970 here, bought it before 3.5. Funny though, I don't even play AAA games and the only PC games I'm interested in are RCT World and Planet Coaster while emulating things from the backlog so despite how much people shit on the 970 I know that I'll be enjoying all my theme park simulator games at top settings for much longer than I thought.

nvidya doesn't even have a true dx12 card out yet... so yea radeons are better for dx12 atm.

You're either a poorfag and play on 1080p or a reasonable person and go for modern stuff

Keep getting BSODs with my HD7850.
I thought I got rid of them after getting a new psu and installing the drivers that came with the card but they came back after updating to the latest drivers.
I swear I'm going Intel after this.

That's the story of how I was converted back.

amd is the only affordable option in the socialist republic of canada.
The shittiest i7 is over 400 bucks plus tax and tax where i live is 13%
I'll deal with a $120 6 core AMD for now until i have a reason to upgrade :P
>>323546704
4k panels cost shittons and none go above 60Hz.
Hence why 20 times as many people have 2560x1440 monitors compared to 4k monitors.
4k is irrelevant for gaming.
>>323546956
That's touching. Enjoy a sudden loss in performance when Pascal cards roll out, I guess.

I admit I don't (one of my clients does) but the extra screen realestate is quite noticable.

If you want to save money, buy older Nvidia cards at the very least. GTX cards are a guarantee win situation for your gaming needs.

Just meme something very unrelated.
Basically it's nvidiots and le free shills posting on this martian religious board then they all run back to Reddit and pat themselves on the dick about how they 'totally raided that pedo place".
Show me a <$400 Intel/Nvidia build that beats this one:

Eh, the Fury line ain't so bad, if it weren't so expensive. Really wanted to go with the Nano for an even more kawaii~ mini-ITX case, but it's priced the same as the GTX 980 Ti, which is nearly 20% more powerful.

But if AMD dies, Nvidia will go full monopoly, split up and still go full monopoly cause the companies are buddies. :^(
>>323553938
thank them for having the best cards outside of the very high end and very low end
>>323546321
Nvidia advantage in DX11 is caused by better drivers which deal with API overhead and several other issues better.
AMD's hardware is much more beefed up on paper - that's why 7970 for instance holds up so well while once competitive GTX 680... not so much.
In next gen, low level APIs drivers play much, much lesser role in performance. Which is why AMD performs better in DX12 games. At least when you see typical 980Ti vs FuryX because in lower price brackets, cards like R9 270X theoretically have huge advantage over their Nvidia counterparts because of supporting key DX12/Vulcan features. Don't remember anybody doing benches on those tho.
Have a 390x. It's p good in my opinion.
It's not even a choice for me. Besides vidya I use CUDA-based applications, so AMD is out of the question.

>>323554952

every nvidia series has a mid-range card that performs just as well, or in the case of the 660ti, far too well, for its price.
>>323554952
>he doesn't have the cutest midrange card
Next time round I'd like to go amd but I've kind of got used to game ready drivers on the day of release and shadowplay.if amd had that, I'd switch in a heartbeat.
>>323555596
>poorfag shit

>>323554456
the only thing that i fucking hate about AMD is screen tearing with multiple monitors
everyone says eyefinity solves it but I have yet to see it
also radeon pro, from what ive seen at my friend's place nvidia inspector is way better
>>323555684
I have a HD 7970 and had no problems with new games like COD BO3 or Fallout 4 at release day, also AMD has a equivalent to Shadowplay called Gaming Evolved.
>>323555596

750 is grandma-tier.
>>323544237
>enjoying my r9 290 that I only paid 200 dollars for new

Yeah, I'm really sorry I bought AMD
>>323544237
>buy a midrange AMD CPU because dont really care about AAA-titles
>dont plan on overclocking
>think you'll be fine with the stock cooler
Its so fucking loud that I cant enjoy vidya. Had to order a new cooler. Other than that its fine though
I got a R9 280 because the 960 is shit.
And the 970 above it is shit, so I would get a 390 as a direct upgrade.
However, if I had the money I would get a GTX 980 (or wait for Pascal).
So fuck brand loyalty, I buy whatever is best for the money - sometimes it's AMD, sometimes it's Nvidia.
>>323556846
>midrange AMD CPU
>dont plan on overclocking
The whole point of midrange AMD CPUs is mad overclocking.
You can get a $100 FX6300 to 5GHz, if you are lucky.
