What was your favorite game as a kid /v/?
Did you try playing it again and did it hold up?
pic related: yes

This game was so hard as a kid. Adult simbas death scene used to make me kinda sad as a kid, especially with that depressing music.
On a side note, why were most licensed games good then and now 95% are pure dogshit?

Disney did some crazy shit back in the day on the SNES, and licensed games in general. Mine has to be a split between Yoshi's Island and Super Mario RPG.

For me it's probably a tie between smrpg and star fox 64

Aladin or cool spot were the best
fun fact: SNES Lion King has a debug menu that lets you see which kind of chip your SNES has, one of the few ways to check on it without having to open the console

It does hold up.
Super Metroid and Megaman X2.
I still play them from time to time, and it's always hella fun. Not counting fighting games for obvious reasons.
More like pre-teen than kid, but yeah, it holds up decently.
>looking it up just now, the list of results happen to show that IGN gave it a 6.5
What the fuck were they smoking
My favorite game was definitely the Sly Cooper series, the game always felt really different and fun whilst also difficult, I played each game as they came out and I remember almost crying when I saw the new one being revealed, all of the games still have replayability for me and they definitely held up,
LBA has to be one of the first games with a plot that I managed to finish on my own, without any cheating. I was already older (10y or so) when it came out, and I'd say Monkey Island means a bit more to me, nostalgically, LBA had a magical soundtrack, wonderful video sequences, and was a genuinely fun and great game. It felt 'epic' at the time, especially after I managed to beat the tomb in the desert.
I actually re-played it a couple of years ago, was just as fun. Never managed to finish LBA2, though. It just wasn't as magical..

LBA/Relentless was such a brilliant game, there's really nothing like it.
yes but I replay it pretty much every year
THE KING HAS RETURNED
I haven't played it in years, but I remember it being a lot like Banjo-Kazooie so I think it's safe to say yes.

>IGN
Dont worry bro, those fags gave digimon world a 5.5 or something.
>>323442174
Played great but that single player wasn't the strongest campaign in the world.
Those cutscenes tended to drone on forever

Ocarina of Time.
Yes, I still play through it every 2 or 3 years and it's a great experience every time.
>>323440921
Metal Arms
Yes
>>323440921
Playing it right now OP, still as good as ever
Replayed it last year, still very good and fell in love with the soundtrack all over again
Way easier now though, even survived Sanctuary of Stone and Fire without throwing my controller to the wall. Fucking plum physics

Lion King was my pre-pokemon phase.
Fuck Hakuna Matata level and waterfalls through (not sure if same game, played on PC)
Hitman 2 and Ghost Master
Ghost Master holds up, Hitman 2 doesn't.
Mega Man 2-6
Yeah they hold up.
