I think I've ranted about this before but the problem lies in trying to cram, not fuse but cram, the two styles together of Classic and BN.

In BN you have limited movement but still quite a sufficient degree as well as means to make sure the chips you have are useful in many scenarios.
In Classic it's not about any of that it's just about proper spacing, timing and pattern recognition.

Now when you fuse the difficulty of these two without enough leniency it turns into a shit show. The patterns are not something you can recognize safely without getting your shit slapped first, the chips you have are not very reliable due to either not coming out when you get hit or when you're jumping or just not in time due to start up lag or just being shit overall in effect, range or quantity. I'm not even sure if claiming there's a pattern is correct since the AI ranges from retarded to Hannibal Lecter. There are times where a chip that comes out and depletes but relies on being hit to activate its attack have been used to literally troll me because the boss would run right up to my face and do nothing. Absolutely nothing. Just stand there. After I waste the guard chip and am vulnerable suddenly it's back to attacking.

I just have not enough words to define how fucking stupid the design choices were here. The game itself is not bad, it's not a bad idea but the implementation of certain things makes it that when you lose a battle or life because of really dumb nonsense. Again this game is not hard or bad, it in fact has quite a bit of leniency since you have things like subchips which can help you cycle through chipsets and Navi chips when used well can kill bosses in seconds but that doesn't stop those situations where one small mistake leads to a domino effect of bullshit.

Protoman and Starman's teleport and Pharaohman's fullscreen damage spam are a few examples I've come across.

Sure. Re-completed Black Ops III's campaign after my save-file fucked up. Tempted to make another trailer out of it using either Hypocenter or Demon within, but neither of them has quite the uniqueness and soundtrack that New World did.

I've been playing Silent Hill 3 because it seems to be so many peoples' favorite horror game. But it's so fucking boring that I don't think I'm able to finish it. All I'm doing is running around hallways with the same 5 enemies popping up over and over again. I'm solving a puzzle maybe once an hour while spooky sounds play in the background.

I like the visuals. I like the atmosphere. I don't think it uses too many cheap tactics to be scary. But I don't like hallway simulators. And I'm 5 hours in and the game is just a nonstop hallway simulator where I have to navigate a labyrinth of hallways to find an object or two that I use on locked doors to proceed.

Couple hours of CounterStrike, Couple of Left 4 Dead Campaigns, Couple a Dirt Rally races.

Good day 4/5.

Tons of lesbian sex and the main bitch had a magnificent ass.

Rest of the movie was "dumb woman makes dumb decisions and probably dies a spinster" with no real reason to watch any of it happen. Overall, 5/10. 10/10 ass, though.

It's not the fact that there are hallways all over the place. Games like MGS2 and Hitman Blood Money and System Shock 2 are basically just hallways. The thing is, there is a game inside of those hallways. There is a story, there is multiple endings, there is freedom and you have a lot of options to choose how you want to play. Silent Hill 3 sets off to give you a spooky experience, so it takes away a lot of plot and choice so you can go on its ride. It just makes the mistake of assuming the player is going to enjoy nonstop hallway walking without any interruptions or choice or fun, in the name of horror.

I'd rather play myst and I hate myst.

Put a couple more hours into Assassin's Creed: Syndicate. After the mediocre Unity and the general mediocrity of the series, I had low expectations. Delightfully, however, Syndicate is shaping up to be my favorite of the series. I mean, that doesn't mean much (like a 7/10), but I'm still happy to see that not everything will be like Unity from now on.

Got to the World War I missions tonight and that was a nice surprise. Love all the modern day/first civilization bullshit in the games, and this one hasn't disappointed.

Yeah trying to Nuzlocke Pokemon Y but I got some pretty bad first encounters, so I'm losing my motivation to continue.

Played a little bit of TBOI Afterbirth and Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon in the afternoon, and then spent like 6 hours playing Xenoblade Chronicles X this evening.

I'm really enjoying XCX; only 9 hours in so far and most of it has been exploring the environment. It's a damn comfy game, not a huge fan of the combat though.
