Does anyone else think Ubisoft took a step in the wrong direction

Seems like a far cry from the rest of the series.

Its the middle game like Blood Dragon so they can do the next big advancement. Its why its full of tons of reused animations and mechanics.

I didn't play 3, but I really enjoyed 4. that setting...nepal/himalaya was awesome.

will probably skip primal. everything is in some made up ooga booga language and you gotta read subtitles for EVERYTHING. no weapons beyond spears/bows, animals attacking all the time. remember how annoying the eagle in 4 was? or dog packs? yeah that's 24/7 in primal. and no co-op.

Blood Dragon was more of a reskin of 3 than Primal is of 4. Primal atleast has its own map and the melee while being shit still atleast made some strides. You can block and throw your melee weapon now, and it being a selectable weapon is way better than "press F to melee"

valley of the yetis is actually pretty good - it's like a 10 hour DLC taking place in the coolest setting of the game: snowy himalaya.

the other DLC is a pretty weird...your mission is to escape from a prison high up in the mountains and then survive for as long as possible. if you die, you have to start over (you keep skills you have upgraded).

that being said, I would always get 2 games instead of 1 game+DLC. far cry 4 the base game is like 50 hours+ anyway.

It's like a repeat of 3, except worse. Your "allies" are massive shitstains that lie and just use you.
The only likeable character is the "bad guy" and the best ending is the one you get after you just booted up the game.

While Dishonored isn't perfect it is still a good game that offers a bit different kind of experience from the norm, which is refreshing. There is a lot of choice and difference in playstyle for that game. The DLC for Dishonored (which is included in the PS4 and X1 versions of the game) is better than the main game and shows what they learned after making the main game.

You will get by far more enjoyment out of Wolfenstein+Dishonored than FC4 GOTY.

I must say i was impressed by this setting but once i saw the gameplay and how stiff melee combat system looks i think i will pass on this game.

I think far cry 4 improved on everything far cry 3 tried to do, especially things like interface and side missions. in your main mission you can pick between 2 paths, leading to different missions and outcomes depending on what you choose. One of the reasons I enjoyed 4 much more than 3 is the setting...I've been on tropical islands in so many games, it feels kinda stale. I've never been in a setting up in himalaya/nepal with all that lore before.

Wolfenstein new order is really good tho so I would most def get that for 10 bucks if you can.

If I were you I would get far cry 4 base game and wolfenstein and then wait until valley of the yetis goes on supersale (it was at like 60% during xmas).

You will not give a single fuck about the story in that game and the real truth isn't even revealed to you in the normal campaign, but in the secret ending you can get right at the very beginning for doing nothing but waiting, which is as has been said also the best ending.
